In the second quarter of 2020, we worked with a specialist technology consultancy firm called "Thought Works" to review our technology and offer. This made us look more closely at our strengths: including the functional richness and reliability of our solutions, the ability to manage tax compliance around the world, extensibility options available through the Cegid Business Studio platform, our four Saas Point of Deliveries (PODs) around the world, including our recently opened POD in mainland China.
We then looked at how retail was changing and identified the evolving needs, expectations and requirements of our customers and retail in general. This highlighted the need to accelerate the speed of delivery when implementing new features or technologies among retailers; the need to facilitate version changes through continuous updates; to improve mobility at the point of sale and improve collaboration through the use of platforms like Microsoft Teams, in store operations.
At the start of 2021, we developed the first version of Cegid Retail Live Store for store associates, addressing their needs and those of the business and IT teams. Thanks to our technology platform, CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment) model and feedback from the pilots soon to commence, we’re able to develop the solution’s capabilities very quickly.
